Summer Cheer Daffodil

Fragrant Double Blooms That Kick Off the Garden Season

Summer Cheer is a daffodil unlike the standard trumpet type. Each thick, sturdy stem carries a tight cluster of creamy white double florets with a sweet fragrance and an unusual, ruffled shape that draws a second look. The heavy stems shrug off spring wind and rain, so the flowers stay upright instead of flopping after a storm.

Plant them in small groups of five or more for the biggest impact, tuck them between bright summer-blooming perennials so the emerging foliage hides the fading daffodil leaves, or pot a few bulbs to force indoors for early flowers on a windowsill. They also cut beautifully for bouquets and arrangements.
